Appearance: Brown hair, green eyes, petite stature for a man his age so strangers often mistake him for a boy in his mid to late teens. He would occasionally appear in his Harmonial Ceremonial or Military Uniform in "official" Harmonia related functions. But those "official appearances" has become increasingly rare to the point that if only people who knew and worked with Sasarai in the past, truly remembered what he looked like.

Shortly after recovering from his injuries from the 2nd Fire Bringer incident, Sasarai adopted Luc's hairstyle... stating that he "didn't want to forget whenever he looked at himself in the mirror". But his staff found it disconcerting. Some members of the Harmonian Council eyed him with suspicion and questioned his mental stability. In the end, Sasarai had his hair changed to a style that most of the Regional Army soldiers favoured. While it no longer enhanced his effeminate features, it enhanced the illusion of his youthful appearance. Without his Harmonian Ceremonial Robes or his Military Uniform, it makes him almost unrecognizable as the same person... While he may stand out in the company of his fellow high ranking officers with his new look, his appearance makes him easily able to blend in a crowd of third class citizens in a marketplace in Radat.

Personality: Sasarai often presents himself as kind, cheerful, and approachable. People who don't know him is often led to believe that he is akin to a helpless gentle little rabbit, just waiting to be snatched away and eaten alive by a hawk. The few people who know the real him are more cautious. While he still shows an outward smile, not even his most trusted advisors completely knows what he really is thinking.

Aside from being the vesself for the True Earth Rune, Sasarai's gained the honored role of acting as Hikusaak's "public voice". Unfortunately, this made him a target of numerous assassination attempts. It is a little known fact that a number of these attempts dated as far back from his childhood. From a young age, Sasarai was forced to learn to become a good with judge of character and become naturally adept at hiding his real emotions.

Nonetheless, Sasarai's sheltered life within the borders of Circle Palace when he was growing up made him ignorant re: the reality of the impact of Harmonia's caste system to those living outside the Palace. But being treated as an equal by First Class citizens despite his appearance simply because of his abilities, Sasarai felt secretly appalled by Harmonia's social hypocisy. While he openly supports the social system, he is also known to be sympathetic to Third class citizens... especially those who serve under his command.

Being the vessel of the True Earth Rune reflects his nurturing and protective nature. He prefers to negotiate first before using force and would rather use diplomacy with no bloodshed in confrontations. Once could say that he has partly depended on his reputation as well as the might of the Harmonian army to sway his enemies on seeing his way. But don't let his "harmless" appearance and gentle aura about him fool you. It doesn't change the fact that Sasarai was raised to be, and is trained to think like a military man. He is prepared to make necessary sacrifices as needed for what he believes to be the greater good. And his likeable nature and strong leadership has earned the trust of loyal men who are ready to go through hell and die for him if necessary. This is a responsibility that Sasarai takes seriously, thus his desire to end battle with no bloodshed as possible.

That changed after the 2nd Fire Bringer War. There has been talk about the stability of his mental health as to various whispered accounts of Sasarai's erratic behaviour. He has become more secretive, sometimes even vigilantly suspicious of people around him. Nonetheless, Sasarai hides all this, including all of his emotions behind his familiar mask of gentleness and a kind smile. The only thing that causes a crack in that mask to show his true emotions is hearing anything that relates to his fallen brother. Those who are around Sasarai are especially cautions to even mention his brother's name around him.

Sasarai was never cursed to see the same visions from his True Rune as his brother had, but witnessing and living the devastation brought by his brother's self-fulfilling prophesy, the bishop did not make it a secreat that he felt bitter and hateful towards his brother's memory. While people are yet to witness the extent of Sasarai's wrath, knowing how the world ended up with Luc's was enough for people to think twice about inciting Sasarai's.

Sasarai has also learned not to depend too much on the protection of his bodyguards (much to his staff's horror!). While he still remains a weak physical fighter, Sasarai exploited his ability to look "harmless" to his advantage. But when push comes to shove, Sasarai has learned to use his magic abilities in a more aggressive manner. Though he still prefers to avoid confrontation as much as possible.

History: Sasarai's true origin was a mystery and despite Luc's revelation, remains to be so. Growing up, Sasarai didn't know his biological parents, and was conditioned not to question his origins from childhood. And he never did, at least not publicly. The first time he became aware that "he was different from other people who looked like him" at one point in his chidlhood, he also learned that questioning the reason behind it was deemed taboo. The attempts he made to find the identity of his real parents didn't yield any significant discoveries, as his personal quests were strategically hindered by his growing amount of duties.

He was essentially groomed by Harmonia to his position from birth. He was already leading an army as a Bishop (Harmonian General) as young as 17. His unit was one of the feared troops during the Dunan Unification War until Luc's unanticipated appearance forced his forces to retreat in battle. The next major battle he participated was the 2nd Firebringer War in the Grasslands, of which his brother heralded the End of the World.

Sasarai was one of the few known survivors from ground zero of the final battle in the 2nd Firebringer War. He, himself, didn't know how he survived. His last thoughts during those final moments, was his strong desire not to die. There were theories that perhaps his True Earth Rune resonated with his strong will to live... Whatever really happened, Sasarai barely remembered, including the many months that followed during his recovery. He was found wandering by a members of a Harmonian search party, wild and delirious with fever, after being lost for two weeks in the wilderness now known as the Dead Lands.

After the events of then 2nd Firebringer war, Sasarai's public appearances became a rarity. Mostly due to him recovering from his injuries, but also partly due to information of Sasarai's relationship to the Masked Bishop was leaked to the public. Afraid for his safety, Harmonia ordered Sasarai to concentrate more on the political aspect of his duties.In the public eye, Sasarai was enshrined as an important figurehead in rebuilding their struggling nation. However, Sasarai was not happy with his new role. It was obvious that the Council was simply using his name and reputation. It was also obvious that because of the question raised regarding his judgment and mental stability, the Council was set on blocking any attempt he made to play an active role in any real decision-making within the council.

Frustrated, Sasarai played on the spirit of strengthening allies with the surviving territories in the South. Sasarai managed to convince the Council to appoint him as Harmonia's ambassador and arranged regular public "ambassadorial" excursions to Dunan. Ironically, he, himself, never appeared in public. In reality, Sasarai used this as a cover for his own purposes, mainly to set out himself to gather information within the Dunan Territories about the missing True Runes. Sasarai was present in his ambassadorial party, though posing as one of "Lord Sasarai's" errand boys, who would often set out to North Window, Radat, and Ryube Village in the premise of "running errands for his master." Sasarai would also sometimes venture out to the borders of the Dead Lands, often times for moments of reflection. While there, he always tried to use his power to try to reawaken small patches of the dead earth, with varying and often times, disappointing results.

While Sasarai never encouraged his brother's name and memory to be vilified, he made no effort to stop it either as people started to identify disjointed stories of a Masked Bishop being the cause of the devastation around them. He did not erase his brother's name in history as many of those in his position had done with Harmonia's shameful history in the past, for the fact that he wanted what Luc stood for to be never be forgotten and serve as a warning for those who hunger for the True Rune's power for selfish reasons. Whether it be a reminder for those who survived the devastation brought by his brother's foolishness, or a reminder for himself, once could never be sure...

Other: Aside from collecting the missing True Runes, Sasarai has become obsessed with restoring life back into the earth of the Dead Lands. The "death" of that land's Earth spirit seemed to have an influence on the power of Sasarai's True Earth Rune. The closer he is to the Dead Lands, the weaker his True Earth Rune seemed to be.
